SIX WORD MEMOIR- LOVE

This is my six word memoir that represents love. I chose this picture to represent my six word memoir because the baby the mother and the fathers’ hands are all present which make up a family. “First love never dies, with effort” to me means a long term commitment such as a family takes effort. Your love will only die if you let it.

WRITING REFLECTION 2

In the past week we started six word memoirs. I found them very clever when I was reading others that were created, but I found mine were insanely bland and boring. The pros to writing a six word memoir are that it’s enough information to make people wonder what it’s about, but at the same time you can confess things and no one would know the details. The cons to six word memoirs are that unless you come up with good words to use, they aren't interesting at all. I felt the hardest part was knowing what you wanted to say but having to shorten the sentence to make it only six words, and consequently having it not make any sense. Looking at my blog right now, I feel accomplished knowing that I actually have a blog and people can read it and see it, not that anyone reads my blog on their free time, but you never know.

PERSONAL ADDITION

I found this so true, no one ever notices when you do something right or accomplish something.

READING REFLECTION 1

I just finished my first book titled “a child called ‘it’”. At first I really questioned how the book was structured. The first chapter summarized the book briefly, which incidentally made me want to keep reading because there was so much that happened so quickly. The second chapter talked about the life before the ‘child’s’ problem came in to place, I felt this was completely in the wrong order for a reason.  The chapters to follow then described in detail the first chapter.

I constantly commented throughout the book about how deranged this mother had to have been to perform the abuse she did on her son. One of the worst punishments she came up with for him was turning all four elements on the stove to maximum and had her child lie on top of the stove until she allowed him to get down. I almost cried a few times throughout all the things I read that he was put through considering this is based on a true story. I kept thinking to myself “he’s going to kill himself or she is finally going to kill him” but then I realized he obviously will not die because he wrote this book.

I feel this book would be very relatable to anyone who has ever experienced feeling alone, or abuse in general. I wrote down half way through the book that this is easily a text to world connection because of the amount of child abuse there is in the world. I highly recommend this book, kept me wanting to read more.

WRITING REFLECTION 1

As the first two weeks have past, we have done a lot to sort of get our minds into a “writing mood” by using the doodling, listography, and personal additions. Anything at all that gets our minds thinking about writing.

I felt that listography was my stronger point because of the amount of options we can choose from to write about. I found it really did get me to think about myself and made me realize certain things.

I feel that my personal additions in my WRN could use some work, I have only done one and it was a post secret.  I didn’t realize it had to be added to that often so I should really start paying more attention to it.

I think our next writing project should be a biography on someone we choose. I think that would be fun to personally get to know more people in our class.

LISTOGRAPHY

This is my listography, it includes: favourite teacher's; pets I've owned; closest friends; concerts I've been too; favourite websites; life to-do's; fears; countries I've visited.

My first serious boyfriend is the one I currently am with now, Lucas. I've been with him for 3 years.

My first bestfriend was a girl named Natasha B. She no longer goes to the same school as me and we dont ever talk.

My first phone was an LG chocolate.

My first memory (earliest I remember) is my parents divorcing when i was three.

The first house I lived in was on Fairlane ave.

My first pets were two cats named Odie and Beeswax.

My first friend was Jackie B in preschool, I still talk to her!
